Excerpt of photography ‘architecture’ I 2007
my intentions are not merely defined in that second the picture is
taken. thoughts tie its’ print to a certain necklace of memories, but
it happens that a detail remaining silent to my first glance of
perception become predominant in a further stage. these details often
start speaking their own language and i discover myself combining them
in my mind and later in a collage.

'Supposedly photography is defined as visually capturing a moment in time which is (always) unique to the person behind the lens. It brings this person perspective towards a three dimensional physical appearance and “reduces” it to flat two dimensional print.
The photographers intention might lie beyond the pure physical - he/she might tell a story, trying to communicate with the audience by means of an unusual perspective of an array of object or people. Maybe the author just wants to provoke a specified reaction; or perhaps the audience should develop their personal story through the eyes of a third person.
If I could say it in words, there’d be no reason to paint.' [edward hopper]
